Fake news is spreading into medicine

Fake news has become a dominant talking point in the media in recent months, but it's not only running rampant on TVs and websites. Medical literature is also falling victim to the trend.

In recent years, many journals from mainstream publishers have appeared that are based entirely on pseudoscience. The Journal of Acupuncture and Meridian Studies, Acupuncture in Medicine and Chinese Medicine are three examples.

Unfortunately, according to a recent piece from Forbes, the existence of such journals can confuse medical students.
