Erlanger Health projects $1 billion in revenue by 2019

Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Erlanger Health System expects to top $1 billion in annual revenues by 2019, with patient admission projected to increase by 10 percent in the next fiscal year and no signs of that rapid growth slowing down.

According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the hospital system’s revenue will have grown by 51 percent over five years by the end of fiscal year 2018.

“This is organic growth, not through mergers or acquisitions," said Erlanger CFO Britt Tabor. “Our top-line growth is helping us to make investments in new technology and quality improvements. It is a very challenging budget, but we think it is doable and a good investment for our future.”

Some members of the system’s budget committee are concerned about such rapid expansion, wondering whether it’s too much, too soon. Read the full article at the link below:
