PITTSBURGH, Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Highmark Health today announced that Highmark Inc., the organization's health insurance provider, is contributing $50,000.00 to the American Red Cross to support their efforts in providing food, shelter, relief supplies and other assistance to the residents of southeast Texas who have been directly affected by the severe flooding that struck in recent days. Highmark has also contributed $10,000 to match the gift from HVHC, including Davis Vision and Visionworks, to the San Antonio Area Foundation, which has created a fund to provide support to employees impacted by the hurricane.
Additionally, to support its insurance plan members, Highmark has enacted emergency response protocols. Effective today, members can contact or visit a participating pharmacy for prescription refills off-cycle in order to accommodate their health care needs. If members have problems or questions, they should contact customer service at the number indicated on their health insurance card or 888-809-9121. The organization will work with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and local Blue Plans on additional needs as they emerge.
