New version of HealthCare.gov goes live

Federal officials have released a new version of HealthCare.gov, which features a streamlined application process for those signing up for the first time, reports ABC News.

The online application process has been simplified so consumers will work through 16 screens instead of the 76 in the previous version. "What we are focusing in on is a successful consumer experience," said Andy Slavitt, a tech industry executive brought in by the Department of Health &Human Services to oversee the relaunch, according to the article.
