Wash. state employers push for higher quality standards

Boeing, Starbucks and Costco, among other major employers, are aggressively pushing local hospitals and physicians to meet rigorous standards in how they deliver healthcare, reports Los Angeles Times.

In the Puget Sound region, the companies are pushing for standards similar to what they use in their own industries. For example, Virginia Mason is among several local medical centers that use the same quality assurance systems that the aircraft company Boeing relies on at its plants, according to the story.
