Amazon Care goes live in Seattle

Amazon’s virtual care clinic offering for its Seattle-based employees has gone live, according to CNBC.

The e-commerce giant announced it was piloting a virtual care clinic option for its employees late last year, offering care for urgent issues like colds, allergies, infections and minor injuries, as well as preventive health consults, vaccines and laboratory services. The medical care is available virtually 24/7 as of Feb. 18, CNBC reported.

Amazon Care is available to Seattle employees in a covered zip code. Employees can download the app and have access to virtual medical consultations. Amazon Care also offers prescription delivery.

If the pilot program is successful with Seattle employees, Amazon Care could spread to other companies––or even directly to consumers, CNBC reported. The care offering is likely closely watched by other healthcare entrants as Amazon continues to step into the healthcare space.
