Credit reporting companies overhaul processes for unpaid medical bills

Consumers with unpaid medical bills will have a better chance to resolve disputes under new rules announced on March 9, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Equifax Information Services, Experian Information Solutions and TransUnion agreed to be more proactive and transparent when consumers dispute charges, according to a settlement they signed with New York state attorney general Eric Schneiderman.
