Inflammatory tweets revealed by Politico have led to the departures of two HHS political appointees who worked on President Trump’s campaign.

HHS White House Liaison Tim Clark will resign and leave the agency in the coming weeks, Politico reported. Policy adviser Gavin Smith also departed HHS last week, according to Politico.

Both Clark and Smith left their roles following controversial behavior on social media. Smith publicly mocked elected officials and reporters on Twitter. In his role, Clark “worked to hire and protect a “number of Trump campaign veterans who were allowed to remain on the job after their social media posts became public,” Politico reported.
