Feds, Mass. reach five year, $41.4B healthcare deal

 

Massachusetts and the federal government have reached a five-year, $41.4 billion healthcare accord, which will follow a three-year $26.75 billion waiver agreement that expired June 30, reports WBUR.

The new deal is about $640 million less per year compared to the most recent waiver, according to the story. However, government officials said the five-year duration offered more stability, and aligns with the state’s subsidized coverage programs with the Affordable Care Act.
